Uploads Tab

Overview

The uploads tab allows you to control options related to user uploads.

Profile Photo Maximum File Size (bytes)

This option allows you to set a maximum size for the uploaded profile photos

Cover Photo Maximum File Size (bytes)

This option allows you to set a maximum size for the uploaded cover photos

Profile photo thumbnail sizes

By default the plugin creates three thumbnails when a user uploads a profile photo (40px, 80px, 190px). These are used to improve the performance of the plugin by serving the thumbnails instead of the original image. This option allows you to change the size of the thumbnails or remove a thumbnail from being created. However, if you have not changed the default image size of the profile photo you should not need to change the settings here.

Cover photo thumbnail sizes

By default the plugin creates two thumbnails when a user uploads a cover photo (300px and 600px). These are used to improve the performance of the plugin by serving the thumbnails instead of the original image. This option allows you to change the size of the thumbnails or remove a thumbnail from being created.

Image quality

This option allows you to set the image quality for images uploaded by users. Reducing the quality of an image will reduce the file size of the image but will if set too low will greatly reduce the quality of the image. The higher the number (between 0-100) the higher quality the image will be.

Image upload maximum width

This option allows you to set the maximum image width for images uploaded by users. Users will often upload photos that are much larger than is required for your website so this setting will automatically reduce the image to the pixel width set here (e.g by default if a user uploaded an image with a width of 6000px, the image would be reduced down to an image width of 100px greatly reducing the image file size).

Cover photo maximum width

This option allows you to set the maximum image width specifically for the cover photo uploaded by users. Users will often upload cover photos that are much larger than is required for your website so this setting will automatically reduce the cover photo to the pixel width set here (e.g by default if a user uploaded a cover photo with a width of 6000px, the cover photo would be reduced down to an image width of 100px greatly reducing the image file size).
